EEOC Announces Two Settlements

The EEOC announced two settlements today. 

The first involved an age discrimination lawsuit in Maryland against Lockheed Martin.  A class of eight plaintiffs will share the $773,000 settlement.  The EEOC had previously settled two additional claims for $131,000.  The press release is here.

The second involved a sexual harassment case against a McDonald’s franchisee in Colorado.  The class of women, including teenagers, will receive $505,000.  The allegations of harassment, according to the EEOC, included the supervisor biting the breasts and grabbing the buttocks of the class members, making numerous sexual comments, as well as offers of favors in exchange for sex.  According to the press release, the two named class members will share $450,000, and the two unnamed class members will share the remaining $55,000.  The press release is here.
