EEOC Reports Job Bias Charges Hit Record High

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) reports that private sector workplace discrimination charge filings with the agency reached 99,922 during fiscal year 2010, which ended Sept. 30, 2010.  Their mediation program also reported a 10% increase in resolutions (a record 9,370 resolutions) over FY 2009.  The EEOC’s press release can be found here.  Their enforcement statistics […]

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) reports that private sector workplace discrimination charge filings with the agency reached 99,922 during fiscal year 2010, which ended Sept. 30, 2010.  Their mediation program also reported a 10% increase in resolutions (a record 9,370 resolutions) over FY 2009.  The EEOC’s press release can be found here.  Their enforcement statistics can be found here.  Retaliation constituted the largest percentage of charges (36.3%).
