Our latest update on jury verdicts and settlements after the break.

CA – A federal jury awarded almost $2.5 million in a gender discrimination suit brought by a woman who was forced to resign from a Fresno firefighting academy.

VA – A jury awarded $82,800 to a former teacher who alleged she was retaliated against by her supervisor after she voiced concerns about problems at the school.

WI – A federal jury returned a $105,000 verdict against an IHOP restaurant for alleged sexual harassment of two female employees by a manager.

MS – A federal jury awarded $100,000 to a university professor who claims she was retaliated against for voicing concerns about gender discrimination.

FL – A federal judge entered an order against hospital administrators prohibiting them from engaging in retaliation following a $3.7 million verdict in favor of female employees who alleged they were retaliated against for filing discrimination complaints.

TX – A federal jury found in favor of Upshur County in a race discrimination suit brought by an employee who alleged he was not promoted because of his race.  The county cited his long history of absenteeism as the reason for not promoting him.

PA – A federal jury awarded $3.1 million to a former hospital employee who alleged she was retaliated against for complaining about discrimination against female colleagues.

CA – A jury found in favor of the city in a race discrimination and retaliation case brought by the former head of the city’s personnel department.

MA – A federal jury awarded $445,000 to a member of the National Guard who was demoted and then fired from his job after completing a tour of duty Iraq.
